Hillsdale Reservoir Fishing Report — June 2026
Water’s running warm and high this month, close to 80°F and running 3 to 3.5 feet above normal pool. That’s pushed the bite around a bit.
- Crappie: Rated excellent. Post-spawn fish have settled onto vertical structure in 8-12 feet, small jigs in any color or live minnows both working.
- Channel catfish: Rated excellent. Lake-wide bite, especially at creek mouths right after rain.
- Walleye: Rated good, up to 29 inches. Deep structure (shelves, humps, roadbeds) in the 10-20 foot range, crankbaits working as the water’s warmed.
- White bass: Fair to good. Small shad-imitation jigs and swimbaits, windblown points.
- Largemouth bass: Slow. Early/late topwater frogs and buzzbaits, finesse worms in medium depth for daytime bites.
