Clinton Reservoir Fishing Report — June 2026

Water’s high and rising this month, which is shaking things up differently by species.

• Sauger/Saugeye/Walleye: Rated very good. Worms have been producing steady bites as fish feed on mayflies; expect a tougher bite as shad grow through midsummer.
• Crappie: Good. Post-spawn fish settling onto brush piles in 10-15 feet, though rising water may scatter them into newly flooded cover.
• Catfish: Good. Channel cats spawning now around creek mouths and rocky shorelines, worms or cutbait under a bobber. Blue and flathead cats spawning later, tougher bite while they guard nests.
• White bass/wipers: Good. River channel edges and windblown shorelines, watch for surface-breaking schools.
• Largemouth/smallmouth bass: Fair, post-spawn. Smallmouth on rocky shorelines with crayfish imitations, largemouth around brush and standing timber.
